JungFrau A Hiker’s Wonderland

The Berner Oberland is one of the most visited areas in Switzerland and with good reason. It's home to the famous mountains of Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch. This area is blessed with one of kind natural beauty of snow capped mountains, bright green meadows, serene rivers and countless breathtaking hiking trails.

Arriving into Interlaken from Zurich I'm immediately taken in by the majestic beauty of the mountains, which were framed by the deepest blue skies I'd ever seen. I could feel the goosebumps rise on my skin and I'm only in the train station.

Solo-Travelers Should Be Banned From Prague

Singles and solo-travelers should be banned from Prague. I say this with their best interests in mind.

The moment I arrived into the city I was struck by its romantic beauty; which was especially deadly during sunrise or sunset. Seeing Charles Bridge and Prague Castle bathed in the warm orange glow of early sunlight was simply stunning. Yet (at the same time) it gutted me. Prague made me mourn the fact that I was both single and a solo-traveler.

My Popup Experience In Amman, Jordan

On September 13th, 2015 "The Local Table" hosted its second popup restaurant event at "Carakale Brewery" in Fuhais, Jordan.

The Local Table is run by the delightful Sereen Kurdi, a local chef, who has an infectious love for cooking with locally sourced food.

The event was held in Carakale's Tasting Room, an airy room with large glass windows overlooking the production floor of the brewery in the front and spectacular views of the Fuhais Valley in the back.

Definitely a unique setting for this culinary experience.

Paragliding Adventure In The Bavaria

All my life I've suffered from a fear of heights and it bugs the hell out of me. It has reared its ugly head when I'm on balconies, scuba diving against walls with large drops beneath them or even on planes (which could be a different phobia). I can't explain why I have this fear so I can't justify it. It's the irrational side of me that I can't control.

My Bucket List

I assume it's compulsory for every world traveler to have a bucket list.

My list are items chosen to help me get over a fear, to prove that I can accomplish whatever I set my mind to and help me on path of self acceptance.

Zurich On A Budget

Zurich (along with Geneva) tops the list of the world's most expensive cities according to a UBS study in 2015. It's more expensive than New York, London and Tokyo. This isn't a city that's welcoming to visitors on a budget.

Zurich, I would like to introduce myself. I'm a newly unemployed IT Manager who (formerly used to the finer things in life) is on said tight budget. I have taken it upon myself to spend two days and nights in your beautiful city and I only plan to spend $100 .... total!

New Life, New Start in Berlin

Sitting on the U-BAHN, on my way to Prenzlauer Berg, I look at Berlin's city skyline and I can feel the history of this city. Its communist legacy is very much evident in the architecture passing in front of me. Alone on the train, I sit nervously as my thoughts drift to my current situation. My head's filled with questions:

"What have I done? "

"How could I quit my job and life and go on this trip with no plan?"

My mind goes blank. I don't remember the reasons for blowing up my life, but I'm sure they must've been good.

Lost In Marrakech (Part 2)

The sound of the Adan El- Fajr (dawn call to prayer) woke me up. Looking at the ceiling I can feel my body unfurl from a long sleep after a stressful trip to Morocco and chaotic arrival to Riad Zam Zam. I still feel dazed and confused after the events of the previous day. The manic nature of the city, the maze like streets bustling with people and the aggressive street kids (who know the look of a lost tourist) looking to milk money.

Lost In Marrakech (Part 1)

I knew Morocco wasn't a rich country, but I wasn't prepared for the city's grittiness. The streets are chaotic, the city landscape had a orangey hue and a cacophony of people, children and sometimes animals zip by my face as I look out of the cab at the passing city.

When I Knew I Had To Quit My Life

I'm 40 years old (turning 41 in two weeks) and eight months ago I quit my life. In all respects I had a great life. I lived in Kuwait and worked for a large bank for almost eleven years and had reached a very good management position with a great six figure salary. Yet for the longest time I wasn't happy.
