#5 Bavaria, Germany
Bavaria is Germany’s number one tourist destination. Visitors to this beautiful region will be transported to a fairy tale world of Disneyland castles come to life, medieval walled towns from another era, lush green forests and idyllic meadows filled with grazing cows.

Bavaria is a family friendly destination that offers so much to visitors. Learn about Bavaria’s state-of-the-art motor industry in Ingolstadt, discover its Nazi past in Nuremberg and Berchtesgaden, sip world-class wines in Würzburg or get on the Wagner trail in Bayreuth.

#3 Kyoto, Japan
Kyoto is a personal favorite of mine. This is a city that has so much charm and beauty that’s impossible to resist. It has over 1,500 temple and many awe inspiring gardens. There’s a quiet joy in exploring the historic districts like Gion seeing the old architecture or catching a glimpse of a Geisha shuffling between tea houses. In fact there’s so much to do and see here you’ll need to pace yourself so you don’t burnout.

If you do visit make sure to see Arashiyama. Tucked along the base of the Arashiyama Mountains, this district is extremely beautiful and has lots of attractions including Tenryu-ji Temple, Sagano Bamboo grove and the Oi-gawa river.

#2 Paris, France
Last year was a tough year for Paris. It suffered from two tragic and violent terrorist attacks that took many lives. Yet after each attack the French public filled the streets in solidarity of the victims and “Liberté, égalité, fraternité” (Liberty, equality and fraternity) the French motto.

Paris is an amazing city that has always been on people’s list to visit at least once in their life. Don’t let what happened last year deter you from visiting and seeing the Eiffel Tower, the Lovre, Notre Dame or Champs-Élysées.

#1 Siem Reap, Cambodia
Henri Mouhot described the Angkor temples as “a rival to that of Solomon and erected by some ancient Michelangelo… grander than anything left to us by Greece or Rome” in 1860.

There are 400 temples in Siem Reap, the most important of which are localized in Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. As you do your temple run, walking through these incredible structures, you’ll feel like Indiana Jones. Nothing compares to seeing the sun rise or set over the Angkor Wat Tempe, it’s a memory that you’ll carry for life.
