10 Reasons Why You Must Visit Croatia
Croatia is a country that’s filled to the brim with stunning nature, history, beautiful old towns and countless gorgeous islands that dot the clear blue waters of the Adriatic. With all the attractions, it’s hard to believe that Croatia isn’t the number one destination in Europe.
Below is my list of the 10 top reasons of why you must visit Croatia.
1. Dubrovnik
May as well start the list with the most popular attraction in Croatia. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a magnificent walled city that’s simply stunning in beauty and grandeur.

2. Plitvice Park
Located in the mountainous Karst region in Croatia, it’s known for a chain of 16 terraced lakes, joined by waterfalls, that extend into a limestone canyon. It incredible to see so many heavenly waterfalls in one place.
3. Nature
Croatia is blessed with a mix of mountainous regions, islands, dreamy beaches and unique hinterlands. It’s literally and feast for the senses.

4. The Adriatic Sea
Let me say during my travels around the world, few places matched the enchanting beauty of the Adriatic waters. As I traveled the coastline, the sea’s color shifted from the deepest blue to brightest green. When I first saw it, I had an overwhelming urge to immediately jump in with all my clothes on.

5. The Islands
In my mind, Croatia has the best coastlines and islands in Europe. Many islands aren’t inhabited, some are designated parks and others have thriving industries of wine, olive oil or lavender production.
6. The Nudists
Now the best way to enjoy this kind of natural beauty is au naturale. More than 1 million naturists flock to Croatia each year.

7. The Food
The food I tried in Croatia is some the best I’ve had in Europe. It’s a combination of classic Mediterranean and Italian flavors. Best of all, you’ll have access to the freshest seafood you could ever ask for. Trust me, it’s TO-DIE-FOR.

8. The History
Croatia has an amazing history that’s visible through its buildings. It boasts vivid examples of Greek, Roman, Venetian, and Slavic architecture. Some of those buildings still carry the scars and shrapnel from the break up of Yugoslavia, and act as a reminder of the country’s hard-fought right for independence.

9. The Stunning Old Towns
As you traverse Croatia, you’ll come across stunning ancient towns, a standout for me was Rovinj. It’s perched on the sea and its buildings, which hark to older times, have a worn charm to them. The sunsets here are stunning. As the sun dips into the sea, the sky and surrounding landscape is coated with a warm amber color. Standing high above the other buildings is a lovely church steeple.

10. The Nightlife
Finally, Croatia is a great party destination. Whether you’re in Dubrovnik, Hvar, Split or Zagreb you’re never far from a good time.
