I love travel videos. They have the power to transport you to foreign lands and offer a glimpse into other cultures. Now that my sabbatical is over, these videos have become an invaluable tool to keep my wanderlust alive.

Osaka is an interesting city that’s referred to as the “nation’s kitchen”. Osakan's love of food is so well known there's a famous quote that says:

“Kyoto-ites are financially ruined by overspending on clothing, Osakans are ruined by spending on food.”.

Kyoto is an ethereal city that's packed with over 1600 shrines and temples, countless beautiful Zen gardens and more history than you could possibly hope to absorb in a single visit. This is one of the few places on Earth where having a pre-planned itinerary is mandatory. There's so much to see and do that it would be very easy to get overwhelmed. I couldn't breathe. I felt like the walls were closing in on me. This is not normal. This is not natural. How can people live like this. How can they sustain their spirits and sanity living in such tight quarters.

This capsule had no ventilation and it was hot. I could feel my body burn up as I started to sweat profusely. The lamp inside the capsule was barely emitting any light and only illuminated a small corner of the box. I was sitting in almost complete darkness.
