My name is Zeid and in April 2015 I finally got the courage to do what I’ve been dreaming about for many years; I quit my job to take a year off and travel. Walking away from everything I knew was the hardest decision of my life. Like many travelers before me, I willingly decided to step into the unknown.

It’s hard to believe, but the year has passed and my sabbatical is over. Looking back, I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had, the people I’ve met and the new perspective on life that I’ve developed. Just because I’m returning to the real world doesn’t mean that I plan to return to the old patterns of my life. This is a new chapter in my life and travel will be a big part of it.

You don’t need to take a year off or live like a nomad to benefit from travel (although it’s nice). Short travel and local travel is just as interesting and exhilarating as exploring a foreign land. I decided to start this blog as a way to record my experiences; so I’d have something to look back on, to reflect on my journey through life and the world we share.

I also hope this site becomes a source of inspiration for others to explore their world, a meaningful travel companion to help plan your next adventure and a place to get tips on traveling smarter and cheaper.
